 While Marjim Manor has only been serving as a local Winery since 2004, the well-known landmark in the Niagara region has been inspiring residents for over 100 years.  At first known as a haunted house and later serving as an estate for the Sisters of St. Joseph Convent, the Manor has grown into a highly popular winery due to its local orchards and unique wine selections.

Located just outside Niagara in Appleton, NY, the Margim Manor Winery offers frequent Wine tastings and tours – for both adults and children (with non-alcoholic options). They also offer a variety of different classes and offsite tastings in the Niagara region, providing valuable wine education.

The Winery

The estate is home to a variety of rustic, classic structures and orchards. Inside the manor, there are a number of different attractions and indoor shops for those that want to take anything home. The Winery is well known for its history, and as such, visitors are often treated to in-depth talks on the manor, the estate, and the history of both.

The Wines

Each year, Marjim Manor produces a Signature Wine to celebrate a special event in the region or the country. In 2008, their signature wine was a Sparkling Peach/Grape Wine to celebrate the Niagara County Bicentennial. In 2007, their signature wine was the Carondelet – a light and smoky Cabernet. Signature wines are available going back to the 2004 crop. However, 2008’s wine is sold out.

In addition to their signature wines, Marjim Manor offers a variety of different standard wines in white and red, as well as a specialty fruit wines from their orchards. Their fruit wines are by far the most popular and include Appley Ever After, Heart of Gold Apricot Wine, Blue Beryl Blueberry Wine, and Cherry Concerto, the winner of the 2005 Taste of Lewiston and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition Silver Medal.
